PRIDE and PREJUDICE - reflection:DHmm, an incident of prejudice? I can still recall something that happen when I was in Primary 5, I never really thought that it is a form of prejudice.. But come to think of it, it is a form of prejudice.I was an average student in Chinese language/subject in Primary 5, then when it came to Primary 6, I suddenly "saw the light" and got "enlightened" in Chinese (haha, somehow..). Well, so I started scoring better for Chinese tests, and there was a time my class took a Chinese mock exam, and I aced it (with flying colours:). Guess what happened? (Wait for it... Excitement guaranteed!) The teacher flew into a rage (a little exaggerated) in class and slammed me (with words). She told the whole class that she cannot find a logical reason to explain how I was able to score a 90+/100 (implying that I cheated). I cried, like what do you expect? I was 11/12 then.Learning point: If you take it the bad way, the teacher is prejudiced against "less smart" students, and she thinks that 'once stupid, always stupid.'.
But, if you take it in a more positive light, it would spur you to work hard for Chinese and prove to the teacher that you are indeed capable of such a "feat". The desire to do yourself justice is strong, especially if you are maligned or wronged. If you can channel this desire into studying, you will be shocked yourself at how determined you will become.
